An agency may already rely on a property portal while using MLS RealtyHub as its professional operating environment. Without a defined connection, staff may need to export records, adjust formats and enter the same information again. Each handoff creates another place where the working version can diverge. Property Portal Integration is available from MLS RealtyHub on request. It is considered for a specific portal and a defined business workflow. Availability does not mean that a prebuilt connector exists for every portal, so the technical scope must be reviewed before the connection can be confirmed.
Begin with the two systems and one clear outcome
A useful integration brief names the systems on both sides. One side is MLS RealtyHub, where a professional or company works with structured real estate information. The other is the selected property portal. The outcome should also be precise: for example, establish an agreed route for supported property data instead of relying on a repeated manual handoff.
The discussion then needs to identify five parts of the connection:
- the property portal involved;
- the records and fields required for the workflow;
- the direction in which supported data must move;
- the event or schedule that should initiate an exchange;
- the access, review and operational responsibilities on each side.
These points describe the questions that must be resolved. They are not universal technical specifications. The supported field set, direction, trigger and automation level depend on the portal and the approved integration scope.
Where manual portal work starts to break down
Manual exports can work for a small, occasional task. The process becomes harder to control when a team repeatedly moves property information between systems. A colleague exports a file, someone changes it to match another format, and another person uploads it. When a price, status or description changes, the team must remember which copies need attention.
An integration creates a defined exchange path for the agreed scope. If the approved workflow includes recurring delivery, it can reduce repeated entry and make responsibilities easier to follow. The exact result depends on what the selected portal can accept, what MLS RealtyHub can provide for that case and which controls the parties agree to use.
How an on-request integration is scoped
The process starts with a concrete request rather than a portal name alone. The agency or technical partner explains the current workflow, identifies the selected portal and states what should happen differently. MLS RealtyHub can then review the case and determine whether a supported connection can be offered.
Define the data boundary
MLS RealtyHub supports an integration layer for property-data workflows, including the ability to receive property records from external sources and send supported property records beyond the platform. The data available to a particular portal depends on the agreed connection.
For Property Portal Integration, the field set must therefore be agreed for the selected connection. Lead and inquiry data should not be assumed to leave MLS RealtyHub. Their inclusion would require separate confirmation and appropriate privacy rules.
Confirm direction and trigger
The direction of the connection must be established for the selected workflow. It could concern data leaving MLS RealtyHub, data entering it or another specifically approved arrangement. The direction for an individual portal depends on technical review.
The same applies to timing. Exchange frequency depends on the agreed workflow and the capabilities of both systems. The trigger and cadence belong in the agreed technical scope.
Separate automation from human control
Automation covers only the actions included in the approved connection. The company still determines which records it is authorised to work with and remains responsible for the quality of the information it manages. The external portal also remains a separate system with its own requirements and publishing behaviour.
This distinction keeps the workflow understandable. The user manages the business record and access decisions. The integration handles the approved exchange. The receiving system processes the data according to its supported rules.
A practical agency scenario
Consider an agency that manages its working property records in MLS RealtyHub and also maintains a presence on a selected portal. Staff currently prepare files and re-enter information whenever the portal needs an update. The agency wants a more controlled route between the two systems.
The agency would first document the portal, the records involved and the current handoff. It would then request an integration review. During scoping, the parties would need to confirm the supported data, direction, trigger, access and responsibility for checking the result. If the case is technically supported and approved, the agreed connection can be configured for that defined workflow. This scenario does not imply compatibility with another portal or a different data process.
Choose the right connection method
Property Portal Integration belongs to the API, Feeds and Integrations module, but it has a narrower purpose than the module itself. Several neighbouring capabilities may solve different technical problems:
- MLS RealtyHub API provides programmatic access to supported resources and is not, by itself, a finished portal connection.
- MLS RealtyHub API-Lite is the lighter option limited to listings.
- Property JSON and XML Feeds provide organised outbound property data in supported delivery formats.
- Listing Syndication describes the business process of distributing listing data to confirmed external channels.
- Data Migration concerns moving data between systems or versions, usually as a one-time implementation service rather than a recurring connection.
The right choice depends on the required workflow. A portal integration is appropriate when the task is a specific connection between MLS RealtyHub and a named property portal. A feed or API may be more suitable when the receiving team needs a broader technical delivery method rather than a portal-specific setup.
What must be confirmed before setup
Property Portal Integration is available on request. A request should provide enough context for a technical assessment, including the selected portal, the business purpose, the intended data direction and the operational owner of the workflow.
The review also needs to settle the following dependencies:
- whether the portal supports the proposed exchange;
- which property records and fields are within scope;
- what access and permissions are required;
- which event or schedule initiates delivery;
- which checks remain with the client team;
- whether a related API, feed or migration service is required.
Setup timing, commercial terms, package availability and ongoing support conditions are discussed for the individual request.
Limits that keep the promise accurate
MLS RealtyHub assesses each property portal connection individually. Compatibility, field mapping, delivery frequency and implementation timing depend on the selected portal and agreed scope.
Endpoints, schemas, payloads, authentication, rate limits, retries and software development kits require project-specific technical documentation. An approved property-data connection does not automatically include leads, inquiries, transaction documents or every record available inside MLS RealtyHub.
Discuss your property portal workflow
Share the portal you need to connect, the property-data workflow you want to support and the systems already in use. MLS RealtyHub can review the request and clarify the available technical route.
